UT Law announces $45 million fundraising goal

Celebrating its rich and transformative 125-year history, the University of Tennessee College of Law  announced its campaign to raise $45 million. The official announcement was made Friday, November 13, as part of the college’s anniversary gala. “For 125 years, our college has been a driving force in Tennessee’s legal community,” said Dean Melanie Wilson.

UT Law students support homeless veterans through Operation Stand Down

Earlier this semester, a group of UT Law students and faculty volunteered their legal services for homeless veterans as part of Operation Stand Down, an event sponsored by the grassroots, non-profit organization Knoxville Area Veterans Stand Down. The event was held September 26 at the National Guard Armory.

George Kuney, Lindsay Young Distinguished Professor of Law and director of the Clayton Center for Entrepreneurial Law, recently appeared on the latest episode of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s in-house podcast, discussing the revisions made to the fifth edition of his book, Bankruptcy in Practice, coauthored with Michael Bernstein of Arnold & Porter LLP .

George Kuney, Lindsay Young Distinguished Professor of Law and director of the Clayton Center for Entrepreneurial Law, recently submitted an amicus brief in support of a certiorari petition asking the Supreme Court of the United States to "clarify what constitutes an 'interest' that can be extinguished in a bankruptcy sale.

Maurice Stucke, a UT Law professor and former trial attorney with the US Department of Justice Antitrust Division, and Oxford University Faculty of Law Professor Ariel Ezrachi were recently invited by the United Kingdom’s House of Lords to submit comments related to its hearing “Online Platforms and the EU Digital Single Market.
