Alumna, former criminal defense attorney joins College of Law to aid with career services

Carol Anne Long has joined the University of Tennessee College of Law as the associate director of the Bettye B, Lewis Career Center.

In her position, she is the office’s primary employer liaison, maintaining relationships with employers and developing interview opportunities for students through the Career Center.

Long also provides advising assistance to students and alumni. She began her position with the College of Law on March 1.

Long has practiced civil and criminal defense litigation with two Knoxville law firms and spent the majority of her legal career as a judicial clerk for Judge Charles D. Susano, Jr. of the Tennessee Court of Appeals and Judge James Curwood Witt, Jr. of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.

She is a 2000 graduate of the College of Law and a 1997 graduate of UT Knoxville.

Career Center Director Brad Morgan said Long brings a wealth of experience that he believes will be beneficial to the College of Law and its students.

“When we can have someone of Carol Anne’s caliber join our team to enhance what we do, it’s a win for all of us,” Morgan said. “We’re thrilled to have her join us and look forward to her contributions.”
