UT Law alumnus Buck Lewis elected Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers

UT College of Law alumnus and Memphis attorney Buck Lewis, of Baker Donelson, has been elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, making him one of only three Tennessee attorneys inducted as an AAAL fellow.

Ellen Cole joins UT Law as the Associate Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Affairs

Ellen Cole is a UT alumna and served as the Children’s Miracle Network Program Director for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital before coming to UT Law. She will oversee the College’s annual giving program and special events throughout the year.

UT Law alumna Danielle Whitworth Barnes named commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Human Services

UT College of Law alumna Danielle Whitworth Barnes has been named commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Human Services by Gov. Bill Haslam. Barnes is currently the deputy commissioner and general counsel for the Tennessee Department of Human Resources (DOHR). She will now lead the agency with which she began her state government career.

Alumna appointed to Hispanic National Bar Association Latina Commission

Alé Dalton ('16) has been appointed to the Hispanic National Bar Association's 2016–2017 Latina Commission. She is one of only nine new appointees nationwide.

Although abused and neglected horses often see the worst parts of humanity, one alumna shows them the best. Esther Roberts (’01) is the founder and owner of Starlight Farm Animal Sanctuary and has been on a lifelong mission to rescue horses from dire situations and lead them to greener pastures.
