“After working in corporate America, and transitioning into a stay-at-home mom of 4, I chose to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming an attorney. As a commuting student, the proximity of UT Law to my home in Chattanooga, TN piqued my interest. The outstanding bar passage rates sealed the deal. Since my first day at UT Law, I have felt welcomed and supported. As a nontraditional student, I was concerned that I would not find my place. Fortunately, the UT Law community allows me to navigate school in the ways that work best for me. Social, emotional, career, and academic support are readily available when needed. If I can assist in determining whether UT Law is a good fit for you, do not hesitate to reach out.”

I entered law school after taking a gap year. During that time, I worked closely with several University of Tennessee College of Law alumni who, with good reason, spoke highly of their experiences while matriculating. After visiting and learning more about the College, I was impressed by the vast coursework selections and experience opportunities available to students to become prepared, well-rounded attorneys. My experience thus far has been wonderful and has shown me that every faculty member at the College of Law cares deeply about helping students succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Speaking with current UT Law Vols was helpful for me to know what to expect from the law school experience as a whole, so I am happy to answer any questions to help someone in return.

I earned a business administration degree at UT before returning for law school. I am now a 3L with a Concentration in Business Transactions and serve as President of Law Women. After graduation, I will work at Baker Donelson as a transactional attorney. I am happy to answer questions about Knoxville, student organizations, transactional coursework/opportunities, and the Tennessee Law Scholars Program. I am excited to hear from you. Go Vols!

I am attending law school on an Education Delay through the Air Force. I attended UT for my undergrad and absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere, so I knew UT Law would be a wonderful fit for me. I love the law school and all of the unique opportunities it has to offer to those of all interests and experience levels. I always knew that law school was the right fit for me but I would love to talk through the process with those who are still unsure!

Prior to enrolling in law school, I taught 5th grade through Teach For America. The opportunity to earn my legal education from one of the best schools in the South initially drew me in. Since being at UT I have been able to build plenty of relationships with other students, staff, and faculty. The courses here have truly helped me build the foundation for the rest of my legal career. Being a first-generation student I had limited connections in the legal field, but UT has helped me tremendously. I will gladly answer any questions you may have. I look forward to speaking with you!

I chose to attend law school due to my interest in business law and helping others to reach their financial goals. UT interested me due to my desire to settle in the southeast long-term, the real-world experiences provided by the legal clinic, and the vast and passionate Vol alumni network. Since beginning law school, I have had an excellent experience learning in the classroom as well as forming connections with my classmates and professors. As an out-of-state student, I was unsure of what to expect, but I could not be happier with my decision to attend UT Law. I met virtually with two current students which was incredibly helpful in making my decision, so I am more than happy to answer any questions and assist in any manner I can.
