Private support of UT Law is critical to our continued success. There are many ways that alumni and donors can designate their financial support to ensure that their philanthropic gifts are being used to help our students in ways that are meaningful for them.

You can make a gift to support any of the below areas at the following secure webpage here.

College Fund for Law

The College Fund is made up of annual donations and is used for the area of greatest need at UT Law. Some examples of how impact is made through the College Fund include:

Student Scholarships
Supports non-endowed scholarships and helps the college recruit highly ranked students by offering more attractive financial aid packages while helping our student recipients pursue chosen academic paths while graduating with less debt.
Awards & Experiential Learning
Allows the college to grant awards and honors to students and faculty for outstanding scholarship, service and merit.
Supports student travel to conferences and study abroad
Funds Moot Court and mock trial competitions
Funds the 1L Advocacy Idol competition

Professorships
Supplements faculty salaries and helps the college recruit and retain great teachers, researchers and writers
Supports summer research stipends

Pro Bono Participation
Allows college to aid students with Alternative Spring Break pro bono projects
Supports summer public interest fellowships

Student Scholarships: Bring the best students to UT Law

Increasing the number and amount of scholarships awarded continues to be the top fundraising priority for UT Law. Many outstanding students base their decision on which law school to attend on the financial package offered. Healthy scholarship endowments allow UT Law to compete for the brightest and best students. Scholarships also help to make a legal education accessible. Financial support from alumni and donors helps the law school to provide scholarships to students who could not afford to attend law school without financial assistance. Currently 73% of our students receive financial support with the median scholarship award of $12,500. Investment in an endowed scholarship ensures student support in perpetuity and has a powerful impact on transforming a student’s academic and career trajectory for life.

Faculty Support: Recruit and retain a world-class faculty

As the college continues to improve its national reputation, private funding enhances faculty resources and provides support for research grants, research assistants, professorships and travel. With your help, we will recruit, retain, and promote the best professors, those who help shape the future of a thriving economy and just society.

Center and Programs: Innovate in and out of the classroom

While the College Fund supports these programs, you can make an impact through direct giving to one of the Centers or Programs at the College of Law. Our programs promote legal scholarship and offer students real-world experiential learning opportunities to prepare them for legal practice. Your support will help UT Law expand its reach, improve our educational offerings, and encourage scholarship and service.
