The University of Tennessee College of Law is one of the top fifteen law schools producing the most “Super Lawyers,” according to a new ranking released by The National Jurist.
UT Law ranks fifteenth among all law schools in the nation, with 14.9 percent of the college’s alumni named Super Lawyers. Among the public law schools on the list, UT Law ranks seventh.
To compile its ranking for the fall 2015 issue, The National Jurist used the list of attorneys selected for Law & Politics’ Super Lawyers magazine. For each law school, the magazine compared the number of alumni named Super Lawyers to the school’s estimated number of alumni.
Attorneys given the Super Lawyers designation were selected following peer nominations and independent research, including pro bono and community service, law firm position, and honors and awards. Less than 5 percent of attorneys from each state are named Super Lawyers.
