Lauren Baxter has been selected to serve as the University of Tennessee College of Law’s Access to Justice and Pro Bono Program Fellow.
In her role, Baxter will provide guidance for the College of Law’s student pro bono program, recruiting student volunteers and attorneys to offer pro bono services. She will also coordinate with local bar associations and legal services programs to create other service opportunities for students.
Throughout the past three years, students involved with the pro bono program have routinely logged more than 10,000 hours of service. UT Pro Bono, a program first conceived by law students, celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2019.
Baxter is a May 2019 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law. She has worked as an intern for the Amber Lee Family Law Group, the Knoxville Juvenile Court, and the Knoxville Public Defender’s Office.
Baxter began her position with the College of Law in August.
