The Appalachian Public Interest Environmental Law Conference will take place at the University of Tennessee College of Law Sept. 27 through Sept. 29, 2019.
The 10th annual event, hosted by the College of Law’s Environmental Law student organization, isdesigned to bring together lawyers, activists, students, scientists, community organizations, and media representatives from the Appalachian region to discuss environmental and social justice throughout Appalachia.
Workshops and presentations will highlight environmental justice issues impacting the region, their underlying causes, and the legal and policy approaches to addressing these problems. The event also provides opportunities for networking and brainstorming solutions to environmental and social problems.
