Recent graduates working in public interest law have the opportunity to receive assistance repaying their student debt through a program being offered by the University of Tennessee College of Law.
The Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell, & Berkowitz, PC Loan Repayment Assistance Program at UT Law provides up to $10,000 to qualified applicants employed in legal positions that benefit non-profit organizations, or local, state or federal government entities.
“We are thankful to be able to make this opportunity available to our graduates who are serving their communities in critical positions,” College of Law Dean Melanie Wilson said. “We are incredibly grateful to the law firm of Baker Donelson for their continuing support of this effort.”
Applicants must meet a number of criteria in order to qualify for assistance through the program. Those whose employment involves legal representation of financially challenged and historically under-represented clients are particularly encouraged to apply.
