About

Candice Reed teaches a course on Thriving as a Lawyer within the College of Law’s Institute for Professional Leadership. Reed also sits on the IPL Advisory Board.

Reed currently serves as Executive Vice President of Latitude and is the Partner in Charge of its Tennessee operations. Latitude is a Chambers-ranked flexible legal talent company that specializes in placing highly skilled former in-house counsel and Big Law attorneys in contract engagements and permanent positions nationwide. She also hosts the podcast, Leveraging Latitude: Cultivating a Full Life in the Law.

Reed previously served as Chief Ethics Officer and in-house counsel at Ceridian Corporation and Comdata, where she oversaw operational ethics compliance worldwide. She began her legal career at Miller & Martin, where she practiced commercial litigation.

As one of the nation’s first lawyers to study positive psychology under the tutelage of world-renown psychologist Martin E. P. Seligman at the University of Pennsylvania, Reed frequently speaks and writes on attorney wellbeing, professional development and leadership, workplace engagement, and career satisfaction and transition. She is a member of the International Positive Psychology Association.

Reed is a Nashville Bar Association Fellow and former NBA YLD Board Member, a Tennessee Bar Association member, YLD Fellow and emeritus member of the TBA Attorney Wellbeing Committee, and former President of Nashville’s Lawyers’ Association for Women. Reed also serves on the Advisory Board for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Nashville and co-chaired Dancing for Safe Haven, the largest annual fundraiser to benefit Safe Haven Family Shelter, in 2022 and 2023.
