Death of the NCAA As We Know It

David Weber, professor at Creighton University School of Law, spoke at the University of Tennessee College of Law on November 8th, 2024. Mr. Weber is faculty moderator for the Sports Law Concentration at Creighton, a widely published author, and he has advised and assisted NIL-related legislation on Capitol Hill. Mr. Weber’s article, “The Death of the NCAA As We Know It” is published in Tennessee Law Review 91.4. His article discusses challenges to the NCAA and its ability to regulate college athletics in the wake of new NIL legislation. Further, his article discusses antitrust concerns, labor and employment issues, and the role of Title IX in a new collegiate sports paradigm. This event is moderated by Bobby Brahmhall, sports law professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law, and it will feature former student-athletes.
