Master of Legal Studies: Human Resources

By focusing on the law regulating the hiring, retention, supervision, promotion, and termination of employees, human resource professionals and office managers can acquire the understanding of the law of the workplace necessary to navigate complex employment law issues. While students have the flexibility to tailor a schedule of courses to their own needs, possible courses include the following:

All courses listed above are designed specifically for students pursuing the MLS or Graduate Certificate and are offered online in an asynchronous fashion unless indicated otherwise. With some exceptions, students pursuing the MLS or Graduate Certificate through the Knoxville Campus enrollment option are permitted to take JD courses.  Check the Graduate Catalog for a list of JD courses.
