Lighting the Way for 10 Years:
A Symposium on Leadership in Law and Lawyering

The University of Tennessee College of Law’s Institute for Professional Leadership has been “Lighting the Way for 10 Years” and celebrated with a symposium October 2024.

Each of us, as a professional leader, bears a torch. The Torchbearer is a symbol of The University of Tennessee, Knoxville and an inspiration for our work. In that spirit, our 2024 symposium was designed to provide enlightenment to participants through both reflections on past achievements in law leadership teaching and scholarship and the encouragement of new ideas that foster the continued development of instruction, research, writing, identity and skills relating to leading as lawyers. This was the third symposium sponsored by the Institute and featured panels of academics and practitioners from across the country.
