Students to host 11th annual environmental law conference

The Appalachian Public Interest Environmental Law Conference will take place at the University of Tennessee College of Law on Sept. 26.

The 11th annual event, hosted by the College of Law’s Environmental Law student organization, will be offered virtually via Zoom. It is designed to bring together lawyers, activists, students, scientists, community organizations, and media representatives from the Appalachian region to discuss environmental and social justice throughout Appalachia.

The event will feature workshops and presentations that examine environmental justice issues impacting the region, their underlying causes, and the legal and policy approaches to addressing these problems. The event also provides opportunities for networking and brainstorming solutions to environmental and social problems.
