For several years, students in our Domestic Violence Clinic, under the guidance of adjunct clinic faculty member and former family court judge Jo Ann Lehberger, have represented individuals who have filed pro se petitions seeking orders of protection. This fall, Professor Lehberger forged a partnership with the area’s Family Justice Center. Students are now able to become involved with victims earlier and to aid those victims in drafting petitions. Through this collaboration, the students become involved with their clients earlier in the process. This enables the students to develop more meaningful relationships with their clients and to assure that their petitions are more artfully crafted.
