UT Law graduate Mark L. Hayes elected Tennessee Bar Foundation Chair

University of Tennessee College of Law graduate Mark L. Hayes was recently installed as the 36th chair of the Tennessee Bar Foundation at its annual membership meeting in Kingsport. Hayes, ’82, was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2014 as a West Tennessee Trustee.

Law dean selected for Leadership Tennessee

The program provides networking opportunities for leaders of business, nonprofit, education and government entities throughout the state.

Brad Morgan named Career Center director

Brad Morgan has been selected to lead the Bettye B. Lewis Career Center in the University of Tennessee College of Law following an internal search, Dean Melanie D. Wilson announced today. Morgan has served as the Bettye B. Lewis Career Center interim director since May 2016.

Associate Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor has cited Professors Judy Cornett and Michael Hoffmeier’s article Good-Bye Significant Contacts: General Personal Jurisdiction after Daimler AG v. Bauman, 76 Ohio St. L. J. 101 (2015) in Sotomayor’s opinion concurring in part and dissenting in part in BNSF Railway Co. v. Tyrrell.
