Ways to Give

There are many ways to give to the College of Law

Easy, simple and immediately impactful. Making a one-time or annual gift to UT Law is a great way to make a difference in the lives of our current and future law students. Gifts can be designated to a variety of areas.

Online gifts can be made here. Checks should be made payable to “UT Foundation” with the College of Law designation written in the memo line of the check or on a note accompanying it.

Checks can be mailed to:

Office of Development and Alumni Affairs
UT College of Law
1505 W. Cumberland Ave, Suite 248
Knoxville, TN, 37996

For more information, or to make a gift over the phone, please contact the Office of Development at (865) 974-6691.

Ways to Give

Monthly gifts

Monthly gifts are a great way to make a sustaining impact on the law school. You can set up a monthly gift online here. Simply select the option “I would like to make this an ongoing gift.” For questions about monthly or recurring gifts, please contact Ellen Cole at ecole@utk.edu.

Gifts of Appreciate Stocks or Securities

Appreciated stocks or securities can be a great way to make a significant impact on UT Law students and faculty. Contact us for more information about how to make a gift of stock.

Honorary or Memorial Gift

Philanthropic gifts are a great way to honor friends and family members during their lifetime or to honor their memory after they have passed. Any gift to the College of Law can be made in honor or in memory of an individual. Simply indicate your preference when making the gift online or through the mail. For questions about honorary or memorial gifts, contact Ellen Cole at ecole@utk.edu.

Endowed Gifts

Establishing an endowment is a great way to create a permanent legacy. Endowment’s must be funded with a minimum of $25,000, but that amount can be pledged over five years. Once fully funded, the money is invested with the rest of UT’s endowment portfolio and the interest earned each year is used to support the area designated by the donor.

Planned Gifts

Many alumni and donors choose to create a lasting legacy by including a gift to UT Law in their will or estate plans. Planned gifts like these are truly transformational for the law school and help to secure the future of UT Law and providing sustaining support for future students. You can review information about some of the different types of planned gifts at the university’s gift planning website
