Law students who are residents of states other than Tennessee and who were honorably discharged from the US armed forces or the National Guard may qualify for a scholarship to cover the out-of-state portion of their tuition under the Tennessee Veterans Education Transition Support Act. Section 702 of the Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act of 2014 (“Veterans Choice Act”) extends this benefit to qualified spouses and children of the veteran. A candidate must enroll within 36 months of the veteran’s honorable discharge.
