UT Law graduate Mark L. Hayes elected Tennessee Bar Foundation Chair

University of Tennessee College of Law graduate Mark L. Hayes was recently installed as the 36th chair of the Tennessee Bar Foundation at its annual membership meeting in Kingsport.

Hayes, ’82, was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2014 as a West Tennessee Trustee. He previously served as a member and later as chair of the organization’s grant review committee and chair of the membership selection committee.

Hayes resides in Dyersburg but is a native of Tiptonville. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and JD from The University of Tennessee College of Law. He has been in private practice since 1982, currently with the Jenkins Dedmon Hayes Law Group. He is a Supreme Court Rule 31 listed mediator and was previously a Member and Vice-Chair of the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility.

The Tennessee Bar Foundation is a philanthropic organization that honors attorneys who have distinguished themselves in the profession and administers a grant-making program, on behalf of the Tennessee Supreme Court, that supports law-related public projects.

Hayes will serve until June 2018.
