Stephen “Steve” Evans joined UT Law in October 2015. As senior director of development, he is responsible for leading the college’s fundraising efforts and overseeing alumni relations by providing leadership and overall supervision for the advancement team within the College of Law, which represents an alumni base of nearly 8,000. Evans also works closely with other development officers around campus including six regional major gift officers, five corporate and foundation officers, and four planned giving officers who all work together to maximize support for the College of Law.
Prior to joining the staff of the College of Law, Evans served as the chief development officer of the Carolina region for the UT Foundation since 2011, where he led the university’s development efforts in North Carolina and South Carolina, a region of more than 13,000 alumni, friends, and corporate partners. Before joining the foundation, Evans worked for the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and Foundation in a variety of roles that included responsibility for major gifts, annual gifts and alumni relations programs. Additionally, Evans is a past president and founding member of the UT Young Alumni Council (board member from 2008 – 2011), a past board member for the UT Charlotte Alumni Chapter, and an Eagle Scout.
An avid fan of the Vols and the Carolina Panthers, Evans enjoys sports of all kinds and spending time with his family outside of work. Evans and his wife, Elizabeth, have two children, a son, Rhett, and a daughter, Georgia.
