Renee Nicole Allen joined UT Law in August 2016. As director of Academic Success Program, she coordinates and teaches programs at the college of law designed to enhance the analytical skills required for success in law school, on the bar exam, and in the practice of law. She also counsels students regarding issues related to their academic success.
Her research and teaching interest include law school academic success and bar preparation, law school pedagogy, and Millennials. She is an active member of the Legal Writing Institute (LWI) and the Association of Academic Support Educators (AASE) and serves on various committees in those organizations. She also presents regularly at LWI, ASSE, and other academic conferences.
Prior to joining UT Law, Allen was a faculty member at Florida A&M University College of Law where she also served as the acting director of the Academic Success and Bar Preparation Program. Prior to teaching, Allen practiced family law in a metro Atlanta law firm. She is an active member of the Georgia Bar.
