Crowdfunding: The Basics and Beyond

This CLE program consists of three lectures, each one requiring satisfactory completion of a test for credit to be awarded. These programs are available by viewing the videos linked below and then successfully completing each quiz, also linked below. By successfully completing the programs and submitting the proper fees, an individual may earn a maximum of three (3) hours of CLE credit.

Course #213799: “Crowdfunding: The Basics and Beyond” (Session 1)

In this video, Professor Joan Heminway will speak on the past and present of crowdfunding. Her talk will include a history of what crowdfunding is, how it has developed over time, what it looks like now.  The hour will include both the legal and logistical ramifications of undertaking a crowdfunding campaign.

Course #213798: “Crowdfunding: The Basics and Beyond” (Session 2)

Speakers Matt Busby (The Camp House in Chattanooga, TN) and Enoch Elwell (Director and Funder of Co.Starters in Chattanooga, TN and The Treehouse Project will be discussing the work they have done in the crowdfunding arena.  They will speak  to their experiences, both successes and failures, and why they chose the campaigns they did for raising capital for their projects.

Course #213806: “Crowdfunding: The Basics and Beyond” (Session 3)

All speakers will have a discussion and question and answer session on crowdfunding.  This hour will contain other examples of crowdfunding campaigns that the panelists will discuss, focusing on the reasons they believe the campaigns were successes or failures and what they would have done differently or tried to do differently.

Directions

  1. View the lecture(s)
  2. Download, print, and complete the quiz associated with each one
  3. Answer the questions
  4. Download, print, and complete the associated affidavit form
  5. Mail the quiz and affidavit, along with a check for the appropriate amount made payable to “the University of Tennessee,” to the address on the affidavit
  6. In order to receive CLE credit you must obtain at least a 75% correct score on each quiz. If you do not pass the test, the quiz, your application, and your check will be returned to you and no CLE credit will be recorded
