UT Law alumnus to compete on ‘Jeopardy!’ this Thursday

The answer is: This University of Tennessee College of Law alumnus and practicing attorney will compete this Thanksgiving on Jeopardy!, the ever-popular TV quiz show hosted by Alex Trebek and watched by 25 million viewers each week.

“Who is Jay Johnson?”

Correct! Johnson, a 1999 graduate of UT Law, will answer trivia—always in the form of a question—during his appearance on the Thursday, November 24, broadcast of the show. He will face off against a digital fashion editor from New York and the yet-to-be-revealed champion of Wednesday’s broadcast.

“Competing on Jeopardy! is a once-in-a-lifetime adrenaline rush of amazement and excitement for a trivia fan like me,” Johnson said.

Johnson practices law through Johnson Law Firm, which he founded in 2013 in Henderson, Tennessee. He represents a variety of individuals and businesses in civil litigation matters and is a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediator. Before earning his law degree at UT, Johnson earned bachelor’s degrees in English and political science at the University of Memphis.
