Evans named senior director of development

The College of Law is pleased to welcome Stephen J. Evans as the new senior director of development, effective October 1.

In the position, Evans will lead the college’s fundraising efforts and oversee alumni relations. He will immediately take charge of UT Law’s upcoming fundraising campaign, set to launch November 13 at the college’s 125th anniversary gala.

Evans served as the chief development officer of the Carolina region for the UT Foundation since 2011, where he successfully raised more than $12.6 million in gift commitments in a region of more than 13,000 alumni, friends, and corporate partners. Before joining the foundation, Evans worked for the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and Foundation in a variety of roles.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in communication with a minor in political science from UT in 2006. He is currently pursuing an MBA at UT Martin and expects to graduate in 2016.

Evans will relocate to Knoxville from Fort Mill, South Carolina, with his wife, Elizabeth, their son, Rhett, and their expected daughter, Georgia, who is due to be born on October 30.
